Does it live up to the legacy it’s predecessor left behind?
It’s official! Lamborghini remade their most iconic car ever! Lamborghini brought back the legend we know as the Countach, but does it compare to the magnificent Italian V12 super car it once was. The new Lamborghini Countach (LPI 800-4) has a 6.5 liter V12 making 803hp, and styling incorporated from the original Countach. It can go 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 221mph! However, one fact might upset a few people, it’s a hybrid. Yes, the almighty Lamborghini Countach is now a hybrid. It kind of hurts to hear, but times are changing, electric is where the automotive world is going. I’m very relived that it‘s not fully electric, that would be extra disappointing. Sadly only 112 of these will be made, and the price is expected to be around… 2.5 million! I know it has the styling and the name, but it’s not a real Countach. The original Countach wasn’t a limited production 3 million dollar hybrid, the original Countach was a movie star car, with over 1,900 produced. Times have changed and I think the incredible cars of automotive history should stay history.
Fun fact, the name Countach is actually a curse word. It was spoken a long time ago in Italy in the area where the Countach was produced. When the mock-up of the car was being made one worker kept swearing in astonishment saying Countach! The name Countach just stuck.
